Every time we will be glad to see you and will shake everyone’s hand, we will push your boat into the summer and wish you „fair winds”.

We will be waiting by the campfire in autumn too, when the water is so clear. We will joke as we smash the ice with paddles on the Christmas trek.

Having shaken hands on it, we will found the „Good Time” club and will surely meet in spring, when the women wave tulips from the shore… And if you have already measured our waters with your paddle, we will put a backpack on your shoulders and lead you through the forests.

Paddling in Ignalina for the first time? It is all simple

If you have never paddled a SUP board before, Ignalina is a great place to start. Our rental point is by Lake Lūšiai, in Palūšė – one of the most beautiful spots in the whole of Aukštaitija National Park. Here you will find calm water, a clean shore and enough space for both beginners and more advanced paddlers.

Where to paddle?

Lake Lūšiai – an excellent choice for beginners. A wide, calm body of water
Šakarvai and the surrounding lakes – for those who want a longer trip, you can travel between the connected lakes.
On request, we can recommend a 1–2 hour route with the most beautiful places to stop, rest or take photos.

If the weather changes or you are running late?

If it starts to rain or a strong wind picks up, we can move your booking to another day. If it is not possible to paddle because of the weather, we move the rental to another date.

Good to know for your first time:

Bring water and a sun hat.
Dress so that you can get wet (although falls are rare).
If you plan to paddle for more than an hour, we recommend sunscreen.

The Ignalina region

How much does it cost to rent a SUP board in Palūšė?

At the Palūšė boat station a SUP board costs 10 € for one hour, 20 € for two and 30 € for three hours. A full day is 25 €, a weekend 35 €, a week 65 €. You can pay online and you will receive a confirmation by email.

Where can you paddle a SUP board near Ignalina?

Palūšė is on the eastern shore of Lake Lūšiai, about 4 km west of Ignalina. Lūšiai stretches 6.5 km and is up to 1.1 km wide. In the north the lake joins Asalnai by a wide strait, and in the south a 60 m channel links it with Šakarvai, so you can extend your route.

What can you see when paddling on Lake Lūšiai?

On the northern shore stand 15 wooden sculptures, built in 1977, commemorating the legends of the Ignalina region. On the eastern shore, in Palūšė, there are a campsite, a campground and a botanical trail. Wide reed beds grow in the north and south-west, and the shores are surrounded by the forests of Palūšė and Pabiržė Raistas.

Where do I pick up a SUP board in Palūšė?

You pick up the board at the Palūšė boat station, on Pašakarvio Street, in Palūšė village, by Lake Lūšiai. If you want to paddle on another lake in the Ignalina region, you can pick up a board in Vilnius, Žygio g. 90; for groups and events we can deliver the equipment – the price depends on the distance and quantity.

How many lakes are there in the Ignalina region?

There are 203 lakes in Ignalina district, the largest being Dysnai, Dringis, Dūkštas, Apvardai, Lūšiai and Baluošas. Aukštaitija National Park has more than 80 lakes larger than 0.5 ha. Tauragnas, the deepest lake in Lithuania, is there too.

Can you paddle on Lake Gavys near Ignalina?

Gavys lies about 1 km south-west of Ignalina, is 2.5 km long and up to 39 m deep. Water clarity reaches 4.6–11 m, the lake has three wooded islets, and on the north-eastern shore there are two beaches where it is convenient to launch a board into the water.
